The Free System Checkup and Clockwinding Service

The technical support team at Coin ConneXion provides periodic system checkups via PC Anywhere at no charge. These checkups include essential system maintenance. The date of your next required checkup can be determined by viewing "Setup / Operator Preferences", selection B (Name/Address / Version Information). The system displays "Next Free Update Rqd: 5/30/2006" (lower right corner). The service must be performed within 30 days thereafter. Periodically it's a good idea to check the date, and call for your free service BEFORE encountering the expiration message.

Microsoft Windows Versions

ezRoute Pro was rewritten for Windows XP in 2001 (version 3). Versions 4 and 5 will run on any Windows system. ezRoute Pro 6.0 and higher require Windows XP, Windows 2000, or Windows Vista (it will not run on Windows 98 or older operating systems).

Best Practices for ezRoute Pro Backups

It is very important to maintain backups of your computer's files. We recommend that you maintain a complete backup of your PC and server hard drives, and that you keep a copy of this backup off-premises in the event of a disaster.

ezRoute Pro includes a backup utility for creating backups of the data portion of the program. Look under "Utilities > filePro Utilities > Backup Utility". This program creates a single-file backup stored in a compressed (zip) file in the "fpbackup" folder. Make a copy of that file or folder using a CD Rom, memory key, zip drive, or other method. This backup file may also be used for updating remote computers.

Missing start.exe

Windows XP SP2 was released without the file named “start.exe”, which is used by ezRoute Pro. If your version of Windows does not have start.exe, ezRoute will not be able to perform certain tasks. Look in C:\windows\system32\ and see if you have the file "start.exe". If you do not have it in that folder, click below to download the file, and place it in that folder. If you do not have this folder or are having trouble understanding this process, please call support at Coin ConneXion.

Updates for Dolphin 7600s

All collections should be completed and downloaded for all Dolphin 7600s before clicking on the link below. Click and save the file to an appropriate folder, such as your \fpbackup folder. Once the file is downloaded, double click it. The default setting will install the new program files on your C: drive; if ezRoute is not on your C: drive, change the drive letter to the appropriate value before unzipping. If you are not certain what drive letter to choose, please contact support. After the files are updated, connect your handheld to your PC. The CCX7600 program on the handheld must be closed. Go to the handheld menu in the ezRoute program, and establish the handheld model (7600), the ID (i.e. AAA), and then reload the wand program. Repeat the process for each additional handheld. When finished, you may upload the next day's collections to the handheld.
